Ciara: Just Say 'Oh'
By
Vic Everett
HOLLYWOOD, California -- The
subject is longevity and Ciara has a story
to tell. “I wanna get into acting and
modeling,’” Ciara explained, when
asked about plans of becoming the industry’s
next triple threat. “I’m trying
to figure out what stop I’m gonna take
next. I think the next project will be very
good. I’ve got [film] offers and think
I should go to an acting coach to see that
I’m ready. I wanna make sure that I
touch that, that I can go there. There’s
another side of me that you don’t see.
I did perform in a play in high school.” |

Ciara has become one of the more
popular singers to emerge from the South.
Her RIAA platinum-certified self-titled debut
is a staple on mainstream radio stations across
the U.S. |
Although
taking second place in the Clayton County performing
arts event while representing North Clayton
High School in Atanta, Georgia would be enough
to satisfy the acting bug of most high school
students, Ciara has her sights on more lofty
goals.
In fact, you could say that the 19-year-old
singer planed on becoming a well-known personality
long before anyone would recognize her as the
“Queen of Crunk.” |

Ciara proves that young women can
indeed have a sexy side. |
“I’ve
been doing this for five years now,”
she said of her showbiz experience. “I
sacrificed a lot when I was in school. I cut
out going to the movies and hanging out with
my friends.
I actually told some of my friends, ‘This
month we’re not gonna hang out or talk
on the phone.’ I don’t wanna have
too many friends anyway [because] less is
better for me. I cut out the boyfriend but
my music is who I am. Whether it’s me
giving input or writing a hook or a song,
I just love writing. I believe I’m good
at what I do as well. When it comes to writing,
I wanna make sure I’m involved.”
|
On
“Goodies” and “Thugstyle”
– both songs co-written by the Southern
resident – Ciara showcased her songwriting
skill while maintaining a link with the more
popular trends in the music industry.
