Jamie Foxx : Sly As A Fox

Jamie Foxx can arguably be called the most beloved film star in America. Millions of excited fans clamor to see his live comedy show, hear songs off his hit CD and view any flick that features his almond-shaped face. But I knew him before the start of this nationwide ruckus.

Music and film star Jamie Foxx gives details and shares some time with the readers of 30 Below magazine.

I first met Jamie Foxx on Venice Beach in California over a decade ago when he was a rising star featured on the "In Living Color" TV show, portraying memorable characters like "Ugly Wanda," and while the show's popularity was declining, Foxx was still a stand-out actor but rumored to be somewhat standoffish in public, which was why I was a bit surprised when he turned his attention toward me that hot summer day.
 

Back then, Venice Beach in Los Angeles County was the place to be on Sunday afternoons, with hundreds of people gathering to soak up the sun and be seen; hordes of young adults often crowded the already congested boardwalk. Foxx was walking down the beach and spotted someone he knew in our circle of friends, so he stopped to shake hands then glanced at me and suddenly made an off-the-cuff remark about my Nubian locks hairstyle and purple psychedelic Jimi Hendrix T-shirt.

Bursts of laughter ensued. Refusing to let the TV star get free chuckles at my expense, I decided to fire back a line that had something to do with the circumference of his teeth, which brought forth even more laughter from our now growing circle.
