Aaron Zigman: The Music Man

 

By Megan Rellahan HOLLYWOOD, California -- After returning from Sundance Film Festival for one of his latest musical projects, “Alpha Dog,” the talented film musician, Aaron Zigman graciously met me at a local Santa Monica diner to discuss his journey, thus far, in Hollywood. Despite the fact that he ordered a semi-bloody hamburger with egg whites in front of this hard-core vegetarian girl, I liked him instantly! Passionate about his work yet humble over his talent and successes, Zigman believes that his achievements - now and to come, result from remaining true to oneself. Without a balanced inside, he said his music would suffer.

The Youngbloodz newest release, Ev'rybody know me, is poised to become one of the most sought after CDs from a Southern rap duo.

“Keeping a clear conscious, the heart pure and kind actions toward yourself and others is what it takes to create beautiful music,” said Zigman. Since the age of five, little Aaron was playing the piano and it was all he ever wanted to do. Although he holds a deep passion for orchestration, Zigman states that he favors all musical styles. Having worked with popular musicians such as; Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Phil Collins and others, that's definitely obvious! The Youngbloodz In 2002, Zigman made his feature film musical debut with director Nick Cassavetes in “John Q” starring Denzel Washington.
